Under 2.5 goals at Burnley vs Arsenal 1/1 for Saturday’s Premier League showdown

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 1/1 @

Two sides who have a habit of producing low-scoring encounters, Burnley will welcome Arsenal to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon in a battle at the foot of the table.

Starting with the hosts, while Burnley might have taken a shock lead away at Goodison Park earlier in the week, the Clarets really came crashing back down to earth. Leaving Merseyside with a 3-1 defeat against Everton, Sean Dyche s side have once again shown a host of issues since opening the 2021/22 campaign. With many believing that they could once again be at the heart of another relegation scrap this season, fans around Lancashire have had little to cheer about this year. Despite extending on their League Cup run against fellow strugglers Newcastle last month…

Prediction: Sheffield United vs Arsenal

Best Odds: 8/11

Bookmaker:

Desperate to find some much-needed stability this weekend, Arsenal will make the trip to an empty Bramall Lane when they face off against Sheffield United on Sunday night.

Sheffield United

Starting with the hosts, parting ways with long-standing boss Chris Wilder last month, Sheffield United have only continued on what has been a Premier League nightmare. Freefalling their way to a Championship return this year after shocking many across the top-flight last season, The Blades find themselves sat 15 points adrift of safety and their fate all but confirmed. Briefly under the guidance of Paul Heckingbottom until the end of the 2020/21 campaign, Sheffield United have really failed to build off of that 1-0 win against Aston Villa on March …

Fox joins Barnsley on emergency loan

Barnsley have signed Norwich City midfielder David Fox on a 93-day emergency loan, .

The 29 year old, who moved to Carrow Road in the summer of 2010, has barely featured for the club since the appointment of Chris Hughton as manager.

He was however a regular starter in their promotion winning 2010/11 campaign, and missed just ten games in their first season back in the top flight.

The former Colchester United man featured for just 35 minutes last season, making cameo appearances in the defeats to Arsenal and West Ham United.

The Tykes are currently second from bottom in the Championship having lost their last three games, and face a tough trip to third-place Leicester City tomorrow afternoon.

Fox is the second player to sign for David Flitcr…

The latest January transfer rumours from across Europe

Italian champions Juventus are reportedly preparing to make a move for highly-rated Fulham midfielder Pajtim Kasami in the January transfer window, according to The Daily and Sunday Express.

Kasami, formerly of Lazio and Palermo, joined Fulham in a deal worth £5 million in the summer of 2011 and is represented by the infamous Mino Raiola.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been included in the Switzerland squad for the upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Slovenia on Friday and Tuesday, respectively.

Switzerland, who need just two points from their remaining two qualifiers to book their place in next year s World Cup finals, are to win at the Qemal Stafa Stadium on Friday night.

Hogan makes Villa move

Aston Villa completed the signing of Brentford striker Scott Hogan in a deal believed to be worth £12million.

Hogan, who has 14 Championship goals this season, agreed to a four-and-a-half year deal at Villa Park.

Villa sit 14th in the league table – a spot behind Brentford – and both are 10 points off the promotion play-off spots.

I m delighted to be at a club like Aston Villa, Hogan told the club s website.

With its history and tradition I can t wait to start working hard and helping the team.

It all happened quite quickly and now I m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and beginning a new chapter in my career.

Hogan came through the lower-tiers in England before signing with Brentford ahead of the 2014-15 season.

AC Milan confirm El Ghazi interest

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has confirmed the San Siro side are interested in signing Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi, but has stressed they will have to sell first before looking at potentially bringing in replacements.

A number of recent reports from Italy suggested Milan have earmarked the Netherlands international as the perfect addition to their attack and are preparing a €10million offer for the 20-year-old.

Galliani acknowledged they are indeed keeping a close eye on the Ajax star, although a transfer still seems far away.

El Ghazi is a player we like, Galliani told reporters.

But we cannot do anything unless one of our other wingers leave the club first.

That s the way things are at the moment.

Sevilla 2-0 Roma: Five things to take as Lopetegui’s team book a place in the Europa League quarterfinals

Sevilla booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 2019/20 Europa League at the expense of AS Roma on Thursday, leaving the Italian side to pack their European efforts in and start planning for the next season. The final score was 2-0 and Roma can consider themselves lucky.

Deserved victory for Sevilla

The first and most obvious thing that should be said about this match is that Sevilla fully deserved to go through. They were in complete control of the proceedings throughout the contest, if contest is the right word.

Julen Lopetegui’s team pushed forward from the start and kept the ball deep in the opposition half until Sergio Reguilon’s opener in the 22nd minute. Roma then changed their approach and moved to attack in their turn, but it only got more difficul…

12th August: Wednesday’s Football Accumulator – 6/1

19:45 Rangers vs St. Johnstone

Watching Celtic drop points away at Kilmarnock in just their second contest of the season and also having their next two appearances scrapped due to off the field issues, Rangers will know that Wednesday night is a golden opportunity to gain and early advantage. With some around Ibrox believing that this is their best chance to mount a serious title charge after not lifting the Premiership crown in nine years, Steven Gerrard s men certainly bounced back from their Europa League defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen out in Germany last week. Along with opening the 2020/2021 campaign with what was a deserved 1-0 win away at Aberdeen in a contest that could have been a real banana skin for the former England midfielder, Rangers put on a real clinic …

Harvey Elliott ready to push himself ‘to the max’ in Liverpool quadruple bid

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott accepts he will have to continue to push himself “to the max” as injuries threaten to derail the club’s bid for an unprecedented quadruple.

The 20-year-old played the full 120 minutes of Sunday’s Carabao Cup extra-time win over Chelsea just four days after playing the entirety of the 4-1 victory against Luton, in which he scored a 90th-minute goal and had to be hauled off the turf at the end of the game.

His previous four appearances had all been as a substitute and amounted to just 153 minutes, but with 12 first team players unavailable through injury, fringe and academy players are now finding they are having to play more significant roles.
